ST. ANDREW'S YOUTH GROUP
The St. Andrew’s Youth Group, or Episcopal Youth Community (EYC), is made up of middle and high schoolers who do all kinds of things at the church and in the community. We have youth group on Sunday nights, go out to eat, acolyte, attend lock-ins, go on ski trips and mission trips, and try to live into a visible culture of service in Norfolk and beyond. New youth are always welcome anytime. We need adult volunteers too.
We come from different backgrounds and go to different schools but tend to find something in common at St. Andrew’s, even if we don’t really go to church there. The last year or so we’ve helped host homeless folks at our church during the cold months (NEST), delivered stockings to homebound church members, went skiing at Wintergreen, and took the ropes course challenge at Camp Chanco. We also went on a mission trip to West Virginia for a week during Summer 2011. Our Diocese does some awesome stuff too; check it out: Fun
