CHILDREN'S FORMATION

We at St. Andrew's treasure the joyful noises, curious questions, and general feeling of growth and vitality that the children of our parish bring to the community.  We consider it a great privilege and responsibility to provide for those children a safe, inviting place where they can be themselves and learn about the unconditional love of God.  Here are our main offerings for children:

NURSERY

We offer qualified and compassionate nursery care every Sunday morning for children ages six weeks to four years. From September through May, the nursery is open 9:00 AM - 11:30 AM.  Summer hours are 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM.  The nursery, which consists of an infant room and a toddler/preschool room, is staffed by two paid workers and additional volunteers.  Please contact our Nursery Coordinator, Jamie Lefferd, with any questions or concerns.  She can be reached at (904) 703-6501 or jamielefferd@hotmail.com.

CHILDREN'S CHAPEL
For our Children’s Chapel, we utilize Godly Play, an interactive method of children's Christian formation. Godly Play uses religious language, parable, sacred story, silence, and liturgical action to help children become more fully aware of God’s presence in their lives. Children's Chapel starts in the church at 10:15 AM, as children process from the church into the Guild Room; it ends when the children are returned to their parents during the passing of the peace.  Children ages four through second grade are encouraged to participate.  Children in third grade and above may help as Junior Shepherds, and adults are invited to help as teacher assistants or Shepherds.

CHILDREN'S SUNDAY SCHOOL
Sunday School runs from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. most Sundays during the program year and serves children of kindergarten-age and up. We utilize a variety of curricula and special events to nurture our children in their journeys of faith.  This Fall we arel introducing a new rotational model to get more parents and volunteers involved in teaching.  The program features three to five week units that center around one theme or bible story.  The children experience and engage that theme in different ways - through story telling, art projects, outreach activities, and more.  Class schedules are available for download by clicking on the links below.  We are also pleased to announce that beginning October 16, Josh Stephens will expand his staff role to include children's ministry as well as youth ministry.  He is excited about this new venture and looks forward to working with all of our young people and their parents as we journey together in faith.  You may contact Josh at (904) 233-3414 or joshpstephens@yahoo.com
